MacInnes Classic Starts Tonight – Friday Sports Wrap

High School

The annual MacInnes Holiday Classic high school hockey tournament begins tonight. Houghton will face Jeffers at 6:00, and Hancock will take on Calumet at 8:00. Our pregame coverage will begin at 5:40 on KBear 102.3 and KBear102.com. The consolation and championship matches will be played at 1:00 and 3:00 tomorrow afternoon. Our coverage will begin at 12:40 on KBear 102.3 and KBear102.com.

In high school boys basketball tonight, Chassell plays at Dollar Bay-Tamarack City.

Great Lakes Hockey League

The Portage Lake Pioneers will host the Marquette Mutineers tonight at 7:30 at Dee Stadium. The Pioneers will visit the Mosinee Papermakers tomorrow night.

NHL

The Detroit Red Wings return to action tomorrow, when they visit the Florida Panthers. Coverage will begin at 6:40 on 99.3 The Lift.

NBA

The Detroit Pistons’ five-game losing streak ended last night, as they overpowered the Washington Wizards 132-102. Christian Wood led a balanced attack with 22 points. The Pistons sank a team-record 19 three-point shots. 

The Pistons visit the San Antonio Spurs tomorrow night.

Detroit will play without Luke Kennard for the next two weeks. He’s suffering from tendinitis in both knees.

NFL

All of this week’s NFL games will be played on Sunday. The Detroit Lions host the Green Bay Packers in a 1:00 contest. Hear the broadcast on 99.3 The Lift.
