Mikesch Named Sixth Skipper of Bulldogs

In a unanimous vote Monday night, Hancock alumnus Scott Mikesch was named the sixth coach of the Bulldog Hockey program.  Mikesch, one of four candidates, was the league MVP for the ‘Dogs in his senior year of ‘81-82.  He went on to play for the University of Wisconsin-Superior from 1985-87.

Mikesch has coached in the USHL for five seasons, has experience with AAA Midgets, and was the the first head coach for Finlandia University in 2000.  Recently, he has helped with Team Copper Country, including their two National Championship seasons.

The school board also promoted Heather L’Esperance from JV to Varsity Head Coach for the girl’s volleyball team and extended its agreement with Finlandia University to continue to be able to use McAfee Field for the foreseeable future.
