Brewers Sweep Phillies

The Brewers’ hot start continued, with a 6-2 victory over the Phillies. Khris Davis drove in two runs with a single and a double. Eric Estrada scattered five hits over six innings to earn the win. At 7-2, Milwaukee is tied with Washington for the best record in baseball. The Brewers return to Milwaukee to face the Pirates tonight. Wily Peralta will pitch against Francisco Liriano.

The Tigers had yesterday off, and open an interleague series at San Diego tonight. Rick Porcello will pitch against Andrew Cashner. We’ll join the game after Red Wings hockey on AM 1400, WCCY.

Red Wings Prepare for Hurricanes

The Red Wings have two games remaining in the regular season… and host the Hurricanes tonight. Faceoff is at 7:30 on AM 1400, WCCY.

Pistons to Face Bulls

The Pistons have three games left in the N-B-A season… including tonight’s game at Chicago.

Finlandia Men’s Hoops Coach Resigns

Terry SmithFinlandia University men’s basketball coach Terry Smith has resigned. Athletic Director Chris Salani says Smith is leaving to pursue new career opportunities. Smith coached the Lions for three seasons, and compiled a record of 20 wins and 48 losses. He had previously served as head coach at Lake Superior State University, Grand Valley State University, and Alma College. Smith is  a native of Crystal Falls.

MTU Tennis Has Three Home Matches

The MTU men’s tennis team will host Findlay today at noon… Ohio Dominican tomorrow morning at 10:00… and Tiffin Sunday morning at 10:00.

Lions Open Camp Without Suh

The Detroit Lions opened their first voluntary training camp without defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh. New head coach Jim Caldwell said he was not surprised the Suh was a no-show… but he still sounded disappointed… Suh has a history of skipping voluntary camps, and is trying to negotiate a contract extension.
