In baseball… the Tigers had yesterday off… and host the Royals this afternoon. Max Scherzer will start against Jason Vargas. Hear the first pitch at 1:08 on AM 1400, WCCY.

Last night, Kyle Lohse gave up just three runs over seven innings… but the Brewers fell to the Braves 5-2. Carlos Gomez homered for Milwaukee, and Freddie Freeman hit two out for Atlanta. The Brewers wrap their home set against the Braves this afternoon. Matt Garza will pitch against Aaron Harang.

In the N-H-L… the Red Wings host the Bruins this evening. Faceoff is at 8:00 on AM 1400, WCCY.

The Keweenaw Storm girls team opens play in the National Championship tournament in Amherst, New York this afternoon. The Storm will face the Chazy Flyers from upstate New York at 2:15.
