Tigers’ Playoff Start Time Still a Mystery
Detroit Tigers Circle Logo
The Tigers will open their American League Division Series on Thursday at Baltimore, but the time of the game has still not been announced.

The playoffs begin tonight, as the Athletics and Royals face off in the American League Wild Card play-in game. The Giants and Pirates will meet in the National League play-in game tomorrow night.

Brewers’ outfielder Ryan Braun will undergo surgery to try to fix a nerve problem in his right thumb. The faulty nerve causes pain when he grips a bat, and it’s caused problems for the last couple of seasons. It’s an unusual problem, and there’s no guarantee the surgery will work.

In last night’s NFL game, the Chiefs held the Patriots scoreless in the first half, on the way to a 41-14 rout. If you played the Wolf Pro Football Challenge, you need to have picked eight games correctly to be eligible to be this week’s winner.

Huskies Hockey Picked for Top Tier Finish
If the pre-season projections by the Western Collegiate Hockey Association coaches and media are correct, Michigan Tech will be playing in the Final Five next spring. The Huskies finished third in the Mankato Free Press Coaches’ Poll released yesterday, and fourth in the Bemidji Pioneer Media Poll. Media voters placed defenseman Shane Hanna on the preseason All-WCHA team. Both polls picked Minnesota State and Ferris State to finish one-two in the WCHA.

The coaches voted Northern Michigan University sixth, and Lake Superior State ninth out of the 10 teams in the league. The media placed the Wildcats seventh, and the Lakers ninth. See the full poll results here.

Tech opens its season with games at Lake State Saturday and Sunday.
