High School

On the boys high school basketball schedule tonight…

• Hancock welcomes Ishpeming for a make-up game from January 10th.

On the girls schedule…
• Calumet tips off at Houghton. Coverage will begin around 7:00 on the Voice of the Gremlins, 97.7 The Wolf.
• Ontonagon hosts Watersmeet.

In a girls-boys doubleheader…
• Baraga plays at Jeffers. The boys game begins at 5:45, with the girls to follow.

In Alpine skiing, Houghton competes at the Division Two, Region Four tournament at Nub’s Nob today.

College Basketball

The Finlandia University basketball teams split their games at Great Lakes Christian yesterday.

The Lions women’s team cruised to an 83-52 victory. Katie Lundeen scored 32 points.

The men’s team lost 135-76. Rae’quan Funches led the Lions with 16 points. The men’s team concludes its season with a record of 3-22.

Nordic Skiing

Michigan Tech claimed the overall Central Collegiate Ski Association title over the weekend, with the women placing first in the competition, and the men coming in second to Northern Michigan by a single point. Read details here.

The Detroit Red Wings visit the Minnesota Wild tonight. Coverage will begin at 7:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

NBA

The Detroit Pistons visit the Washington Wizards this evening.

NFL

Matthew Stafford’s one-yard touchdown toss to Cooper Kupp with 85 seconds remaining lifted the Los Angeles Rams to a 23-20 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in the Super Bowl last night. Kupp was named the game’s Most Valuable Player.
