MTU Women’s Hoops Drops Second Straight – Monday Sports Wrap

Finlandia
The Finlandia University women’s basketball team lost 60-40 to Wisconsin-Platteville at the Holiday Inn Express Thanksgiving Classic in LaCrosse yesterday. The Lions hung tough through the first quarter, but were held to single-digit scoring in each of the remaining three periods. Molly Berg and Harlee Froberg each scored eight points.

MTU
The MTU women’s team fell 80-65 to the University of Southern Indiana at the USI Thanksgiving Classic in Evansville yesterday. Hannah Hobson scored a career-best 17 points for Tech.

GLHL
The Calumet Wolverines edged the Portage Lake Pioneers 5-4 in a shootout last night. Chris Hoffman’s goal with 31 seconds remaining in regulation forced extra play. Ethan Larson scored the game-winner in the eighth round of the shootout.

NHL
The Detroit Red Wings entertain the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight. Because of NFL football on 99.3 The Lift, pregame coverage begins at 7:10 on KBear 102.3.

NBA
The Detroit Pistons outscored the Phoenix Suns 118-107 yesterday. Andre Drummond led Detroit with 19 points and 16 rebounds. The Pistons welcome the New York Knicks tomorrow. Pregame coverage begins at 6:35 on 99.3 The Lift.

NFL
The Green Bay Packers lost to the Minnesota Vikings 24-17 last night. Aaron Rodgers threw for a touchdown in the first half, and Aaron Jones ran for another, but Green Bay was held to just a Mason Crosby field goal in the second half.
