High School
In high school cross country today, many local teams run at the West Iron County Invitational.

Finlandia
The Finlandia men’s soccer team will play at Webster University this evening.

The Finlandia volleyball team will host Gogebic Community College tonight at 6:00 at the Paavo Nurmi Center.

MTU
The MTU soccer team edged Northern Michigan University 1-0 yesterday. Katri Studtmann scored the game’s only goal, in the first half. Kirsen Hudak earned the shutout in net.

NHL
The Detroit Red Wings skate at Dallas tomorrow night. Face-off is at 8:30 on 99.3 The Lift.

NBA
The Detroit Pistons continue their preseason tonight at home against Indiana. We’ll broadcast selected Pistons regular-season games on 99.3 The Lift.

MLB
In the American League Divisional Playoff Series yesterday, the Red Sox defeated the Astros 10-3. Houston leads that set 2-1. The Yankees blanked the Indians 1-0. Cleveland is 2-1 in that series. Both of those matches continue today.

Both National League Divisional Series resume today. The Nationals visit the Cubs – that set is tied 1-1. The Dodgers carry a 2-0 lead into tonight’s game at Arizona.

NFL
The Detroit Lions’ late comeback fell short, as they lost to the Carolina Panthers 27-24 yesterday. Matthew Stafford tossed two touchdown passes to tight end Darren Fells in the fourth quarter to make it close.

Aaron Rodgers’ touchdown pass to Davante Adams with 16 seconds remaining lifted the Green Bay Packers to a 35-31 victory over the Dallas Cowboys. It was Rodgers’ third TD pass of the game.

In last night’s game, the Kansas City Chiefs held off the Houston Texans 42-34.

Tonight, the Minnesota Vikings visit the Chicago Bears. Hear the broadcast on 99.3 The Lift.

The Calumet Copper Kings continue their drive for a football playoff berth Friday night at home against the Gogebic Miners. Pregame coverage will begin around 6:40 on KBear 102.3 and KBear102.com.
