The Portage Lake Pioneers came from behind, and edged the De Pere Deacons 6-5 in overtime yesterday.

Coreau

NHL
J.T. Miller’s goal with three minutes left in overtime gave the New York Rangers a 1-0 victory over the Detroit Red Wings yesterday afternoon. Jared Coreau made 18 saves, and took the tough loss in net. The Wings skate at Boston tomorrow night. Faceoff is at 7:00 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.

Miller

Before yesterday’s game, the Red Wings activated Niklas Kronwall off injured reserve. To make room on the roster, they placed forward Drew Miller on waivers. If Miller is not claimed by another team, he could be assigned to Grand Rapids. Tomas Vanek left yesterday’s game with a lower body injury. He’ll be evaluated today, but team officials say they don’t think it’s serious.

NBA
The Detroit Pistons host the Sacramento Kings tonight. Tipoff is at 7:30 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.

NFL
The Green Bay Packers suffered through a miserable first half, and lost to the Atlanta Falcons 44-21 in the NFC title game yesterday. While Matt Ryan and the Atlanta offense ripped the Green Bay defense for 325 yards and 24 points in that first half, the Packers offense gave up a fumble, an interception, and missed a field goal. By the time the Green Bay offense recovered in the third quarter, it was too late.

The Falcons will face the Patriots in the Super Bowl. New England eliminated the Pittsburgh Steelers 36-17 in the AFC championship game. Hear the Super Bowl February 5th on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.
