Jeffers Jets Logo– At the Jeffers New Year Tournament at MacInnes Arena, Escanaba faces Cheboygan tonight at 6:00, and Jeffers takes on Pinckney at 8:00. Tomorrow, the consolation match will take place at 1:00, and the championship game at 3:00.

NFL Playoffs
Detroit Lions LionDefensive tackle Nick Fairley practiced with the Detroit Lions yesterday for the first time since he injured his knee on October 26th. His participation was limited, and team officials say it remains very unlikely that he will be able to play in Sunday’s playoff game against the Cowboys. He might be ready for the team’s second playoff game… if they get one. Hear all of this weekend’s NFL playoff games on AM 1400 and FM 99.3 WCCY.

College Football Championship Match Set
Ohio State will face Oregon in the College Football Bowl Division Championship Game. The Buckeyes overcame an early 15-point deficit, and upended top-ranked Alabama 42-35 in the Sugar Bowl last night. The Ducks dismantled Florida State 59-20 in the Rose Bowl.

At the Cotton Bowl yesterday, Michigan State scored three touchdowns in the fourth quarter, and edged Baylor 42-41.
