High School
In high school hockey tonight (weather permitting)…
– Calumet entertains Kingsford.
– Hancock hosts Marquette. Our pregame coverage will begin around 6:40 on KBear 102.3 and KBear102.com.

Houghton forward Dawson McKay has been named as the LTU Michigan High School North Division Hockey Player of the Week. McKay scored five goals in the Gremlins’ victories over Rochester United and Utica Eisenhower last weekend. Hancock forward Teddy Randell and Jeffers forward Brendan Middleton received Honorable Mention votes. The weekly awards are coordinated by the hockey coaching staff at Lawrence Tech University. KBear 102 is a member of the voting panel.

In boys basketball tonight (weather permitting)…
– Hancock tips off at Houghton.
– Dollar Bay-Tamarack City entertains Ontonagon.
– Jeffers plays at Chassell.
– The Lake Linden-Hubbell game at Calumet has been postponed until tomorrow night, because of a schedule conflict with the Lake Linden team.

In girls action (weather permitting)…
– Calumet visits Hancock in a make-up from Tuesday’s snow-out.

Finlandia
The Finlandia University men’s basketball game at Lakeland College was snowed out last night. No make-up date has been announced.

MTU
Both Michigan Tech basketball teams entertain Hillsdale tonight. The women’s game tips off at 5:30, and the men’s contest at 7:30 at the SDC.

NMU
Both Northern Michigan University hoops teams welcome Findlay tonight.

NBA
The Detroit Pistons bounced back from Sunday’s lackluster loss to the 76ers, and defeated the Dallas Mavericks 95-85 last evening. For much of the game, it appeared that the Pistons were still stuck in the mud. They trailed by a dozen late in the third quarter, but a strong closing run and some great bench play brought them the victory. For the first time this season, Reggie Jackson led the team in scoring, with 20 points. Andre Drummond grabbed 17 rebounds. The Pistons visit the Washington Wizards tomorrow night. NHL
The Detroit Red Wings host the Los Angeles Kings tonight.

NFL

The Milwaukee Brewers have added another starting pitcher to their rotation. They signed lefty Tommy Milone to a one-year contract yesterday. Milone has a record of 44-33 over six seasons with the Nationals, Athletics and Twins.
