The Michigan Tech men’s basketball team has been picked to finish fourth in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference North Division this season. Saginaw Valley State was picked to finish first by the league coaches, followed by Ferris State and Lake Superior State. Northern Michigan University is projected to finish sixth. The Detroit Pistons lost their season-opener to the Toronto the Raptors 101-91 last night. DeMar DeRozan torched the Detroit defense for 40 points. Tobias Harris led Detroit with 22. Andre Drummond missed a chunk of the game after taking n elbow to the head. He passed the concussion protocol and returned. The Pistons welcome the Orlando Magic to the Palace for their home opener tomorrow night. Tipoff is at 7:30 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.

The Detroit Red Wings face the Blues in St. Louis tonight. The Wings have won five games in a row.

MLB
Jake Arrieta carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning last night, as the Chicago Cubs defeated the Cleveland Indians 5-1. The victory evened the World Series at one win per team. Game three will be played tomorrow night at Wrigley Field.
