NBA
The Detroit Pistons fell to the Cleveland Cavaliers 107-90 last evening. LeBron James scored 27 points, and the Cavs made 20 of 38 three-point attempts. The game was close until halftime, but Cleveland outscored Detroit by 12 in the third quarter to pull away. Andre Drummond led the Pistons with 20 points. Detroit trails the best-of-seven opening round series two games to none. Game three will be played tomorrow night in Detroit.

NHL
The Detroit Red Wings face a must-win situation tonight, when they play at Tampa Bay. The Lightning lead the best-of-seven opening round playoff series three games to one, and could eliminate the Wings with a victory this evening. Face-off is at 7:00 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.

MLB
The Detroit Tigers held off a late threat, and defeated the Kansas City Royals 3-2 last night. Jordan Zimmermann continued his impressive start with 6-1/3rd scoreless innings. Detroit got a run in the third, when Ian Kinsler doubled home Jarrod Saltalamacchia. They earned another in the sixth, when Victor Martinez’ single plated Kinsler – the 1,000th RBI of Martinez’ career. Kinsler drove in Saltalamacchia with a single in the top of the ninth for what would prove to be a very important insurance run. Reliever Francisco Rodriguez surrendered two solo home runs in the bottom of the ninth, before finally closing the game out.

The Tigers wrap up that series at Kansas City tonight. Mike Pelfrey will pitch against Edinson Volquez.

Aaron Hill and Chris Carter homered, as the Milwaukee Brewers pounded the Minnesota Twins 10-5 last night. Jimmy Nelson gave up four runs over 6-2/3rds innings, and got the win.

The Brewers wrap up that set against the Twins in Milwaukee this afternoon. Taylor Jungmann will pitch against Ricky Nolasco.
