Pistons Fall to Bucks – Thursday Sports Wrap

High School

A limited number of tickets will be available for the Calumet High School volleyball team’s remaining games in the state tournament. The Michigan High School Athletic Association announced yesterday that the state will allow 50 tickets per team per game to be sold to immediate family members. The Copper Kings are scheduled to resume the state tournament with a quarterfinal game against Beaverton at Houghton Lake High School Tuesday. The semifinals and finals will be played next weekend at Kellogg Arena in Battle Creek.

The sites for the high school football championship games have been announced. The eight-player title games will be played a week from Saturday at the indoor facility at the Legacy Center in Brighton. The 11-player finals will be played January 22nd and 23rd at Ford Field in Detroit.

Finlandia

The Finlandia University hockey team has added another player. Sheldon Brett is a transfer who skated for Bryn Athyn College the past two seasons.

NBA

The Detroit Pistons lost to the Milwaukee Bucks 130-115 last night. Jerami Grant led Detroit with 31 points and 10 rebounds.

The loss came after the Pistons learned that rookie point guard Killian Hayes will miss extended time. Reports say that Hayes suffered a labral tear in his hip during Monday’s loss to the Bucks. If no surgery is needed, he could be back in four to six weeks. If surgery is necessary, he’ll likely miss the rest of the season.

Guard Derrick Rose left last night’s game with a knee contusion. He’s considered day to day.

The Pistons host the Phoenix Suns tomorrow night. Coverage begins at 6:35 on 99.3 The Lift.
