Pistons Get First Win – Saturday Sports Wrap

The Michigan Tech hockey team entertains Alabama-Huntsville this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon.

Blake Pietila of the Huskies has been named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association Goaltender of the Month for December. Pietila had the league’s best save percentage.

The Northern Michigan University hockey team hosts Minnesota State this evening and tomorrow afternoon.

Both the MTU and NMU Nordic ski teams will be among those competing at the MTU Holiday Championships on the Tech Trails today and tomorrow.

NBA

The Detroit Pistons earned their first win of the season last evening, shading the Boston Celtics 96-93. After blowing a 21-point first half lead, the Detroit defense held Boston scoreless over the last 4:15 to close the game. Jerami Grant scored 24, and Mason Plumlee pulled down 17 rebounds.

The Pistons host the Celtics again tomorrow afternoon.

NFL

The Detroit Lions wrap up their season at home against the Minnesota Vikings with a 1:00 game tomorrow on 99.3 The Lift.

The Green Bay Packers tune up for the playoffs with a 4:25 game against the Bears in Chicago.

The regular season ends tomorrow night as the Philadelphia Eagles host Washington on 99.3 The Lift.
