Hancock hockey forward Alex Nordstrom has been named the LTU North Division Player of the Week. Houghton forward Jacob Kruse received Honorable Mention votes from the statewide panel of judges. The weekly awards are coordinated by the hockey coaching staff at Lawrence Tech University. KBear 102 is a member of the voting panel.

The Detroit Pistons suffered a listless 87-77 loss to the Charlotte Hornets last night. Andre Drummond had a big night, with 26 points and 20 rebounds, but his teammates shot just 30 percent from the floor, and made only four of 27 three-point attempts. The Pistons visit the Minnesota Timberwolves tomorrow evening.

The Detroit Red Wings host the Columbus Blue Jackets tomorrow night. Faceoff is at 7:30 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.
