In high school hockey tonight, Hancock entertains Negaunee.

In boys basketball this evening…
– Calumet plays at Hancock.
– Jeffers hosts Ontonagon.

– Lake Linden-Hubbell tips off at Baraga. Our broadcast will begin around 7:00 on KBear 102.3 and KBear102.com.

The Calumet High School junior varsity hockey team will hold a pancake breakfast Saturday from 8:00 until noon at the Colosseum. $5.00 tickets can be purchased from any JV hockey player, Copper World in Calumet, Salon 1281 in Laurium, or at the door. Proceeds will help offset the cost of JV hockey.

MTU/NMU
Both Michigan Tech basketball teams entertain Grand Valley State University tonight. The women’s contest tips off at 5:30, and the men’s game will start at 7:30.

Both Northern Michigan University hoops teams will host Davenport University tonight.

NBA
The Detroit Pistons edged the Orlando Magic 120-115 in overtime last night. Blake Griffin scored 30 points, and Andre Drummond nabbed 22 rebounds. Detroit played with its full roster intact for the first time since early October, as Zaza Pachulia returned after missing eight games with a calf injury. The Pistons entertain the Miami Heat tomorrow night.

NHL
The Detroit Red Wings begin a western trip tomorrow with a visit to the Calgary Flames. Pregame coverage begins at 8:40 on 99.3 The Lift.

NFL
The Detroit Lions have hired Darrell Bevell as their new offensive coordinator. Bevell has spend 11 years as an NFL offensive coordinator, first with the Minnesota Vikings, and then with the Seattle Seahawks, where he earned a Super Bowl ring. He was also the Green Bay Packers’ quarterback coach in the early 2000s.

Veteran Lions long snapper Don Muhlbach has been added to the Pro Bowl roster.

Our Finlandia University hockey coverage resumes Saturday afternoon, when the women’s team entertains Adrian College. The pregame show will start at 2:55 on KBear 102.3 and KBear102.com.
