In high school boys basketball tonight…

College Basketball

Both Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan open their Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference basketball campaigns tonight.

The Huskies host Saginaw Valley State, with the women’s tip-off at 5:30, and the men’s at 7:30.

Both Wildcats teams welcome Wayne State.

NHL

The Red Wings host the Sharks tonight. Patrick Kane is expected to make his Detroit debut. Because of NFL football, we’ll join the game in progress after Calumet High School basketball on KBear 102.3.

NBA

The Pistons’ team-record futility streak grew to 18 games, with a 116-102 loss to the Grizzlies last night. Detroit led at the end of the third quarter, but was outscored by 16 points in the final stanza. Bojan Bogdanovic led Detroit with 22 points. Jalen Duren added 17 points and snared 11 rebounds.

The Pistons visit the Magic tomorrow. Coverage will start at 6:35 on 99.3 The Lift.

NFL

In tonight’s NFL game, the Patriots visit the Steelers. Coverage will begin at 7:30 on 99.3 The Lift.

Former Packers kicker Mason Crosby has signed a deal with the Rams. He’s on their practice squad for now, but could be in line to replace Lucas Havrisik, who has struggled recently.

MLB

Former Tigers starter Eduardo Rodriguez has agreed to a four-year, $80 million deal with the Diamondbacks.

This year’s Rule Five Draft was held last night. For the first time since 2015, the Tigers made no selection. The Brewers also passed. Players picked from other teams’ minor league systems in the Rule Five Draft must be held on the new club’s roster for the entire season, or offered back to their former team.
