Pistons Win, Wings Fall – Wednesday Sports Update

Mark Arcobello’s goal three minutes into overtime lifted the Arizona Coyotes to a 5-4 victory over the Detroit Red Wings last night. Detroit played catch-up all evening, with the teams alternating goals. Gustav Nyquist forced overtime when he found the net midway through the third period. Jimmy Howard took the loss in goal. The Wings host the Sharks tomorrow night. Face-off is at 7:30 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3 WCCY.

The Detroit Pistons took an early lead, then held off the Raptors to earn a 108-104 victory last night. Detroit led by 10 points at the end of the first quarter. Reggie Jackson scored 28 points, and Andre Drummond collected 18 rebounds. The Pistons have won four of their last five games, and play at Orlando Friday night.

Anibal Sanchez gave up two runs on four hits over five innings last night, as the Tigers lost to the Yankees 9-8. Ramon Flores’ three-run homer with two outs in the bottom of the ninth off minor-league pitcher Rafael Dolis was the game-winning hit. The Tigers face the Marlins this afternoon.

The Brewers pounded the Diamondbacks 12-0 last night. Michael Blazek started, and threw four scoreless innings. Jean Segura had three hits, and drove in three runs. The Brewers will play the Athletics this afternoon.
