Tech Legend Esposito on Michigan Sports Hall Ballot – Wednesday Sports Wrap

Former Michigan Tech hockey goalie Tony Esposito is again on the ballot for the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame. Esposito led the Huskies to the 1964–65 NCAA Championship. After a brief stint with the Montreal Canadiens, he went on to play 15 seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks. He won the Vezina Trophy three times, was named to six all-star teams, and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1988.

NHL

The National Hockey League has extended its self-quarantine recommendation for players, coaches and staff through April 30th. It has been a month since the season was suspended because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Officials are still hoping to complete the regular season and the full playoff schedule.

NFL

The Detroit Lions and offensive lineman Kenny Wiggins have agreed to a contract. Terms have not been released. Wiggins has started 13 games over the past two seasons in Detroit. He previously played five seasons for the Chargers.
