MLB

Miguel Cabrera had three hits, as the Detroit Tigers breezed past the Kansas City Royals 5-1 Saturday. Cabrera drove in four of Detroit’s runs, and scored the other. In a pitch-limited start, Tarik Skubal gave up just one hit over four innings.

The Tigers host the Royals again today. Wily Peralta will start against Kris Bubic. Because of Detroit Lions football, there will be no radio broadcast of today’s game.

Outfielder Victor Reyes left yesterday’s game with tightness in a groin muscle. He’ll likely miss the final week of the season.

The Milwaukee Brewers inched closer to the National League Central Division title, with a 2-1 win over the New York Mets Saturday. Corbin Burnes allowed a run over seven innings, and struck out nine. Eduardo Escobar’s two-run single in the third inning provided all of the Crew’s scoring.

The Brewers could clinch the title with a win over the Mets this afternoon. Freddy Peralta will start against Carlos Carrasco.

Milwaukee has placed pitcher Jake Cousins on the injured list with a biceps strain. Miguel Sánchez has been called up from Nashville.
