Michigan Tech is planning some improvements at Sherman Field. The first phase will include new seating for 2,100 spectators, and improved parking access. The current seats in the stadium were installed in 1968. The goal is to have that ready for next season. The second phase will include an expanded press box, coaching boxes, restrooms and concessions. The plan is to begin that effort in the spring of 2019. The total cost of the project is placed at three-million dollars. If you’d like to help pay for it, click here.

Our high school hockey coverage continues Saturday night, when Calumet entertains Marquette. The broadcast will begin around 6:40 on KBear 102.3 and KBear102.com.
