The Detroit Tigers collected just four hits in a 5-0 shutout loss to the Los Angeles Angels yesterday afternoon. Anibal Sanchez turned in four shutout innings of his own to start the game, but surrendered a two-run homer to Jefrey Marte in the fifth inning, and left the game was the Angels added three more in the sixth.

The Tigers host the Chicago White Sox tonight. Matt Boyd will start against James Shields. Hear the first pitch at 7:10 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3, WCCY.

Cleveland also lost, so Detroit still trails the Indians by four and a half games in the American League Central Division.

The Milwaukee Brewers managed only five hits in a 3-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates yesterday. All of the scores came on solo home runs – Jonathan Villar hit Milwaukee’s. Chase Anderson threw five shutout innings, but gave up two homers in the sixth, and took the loss.

The Brewers entertain the St. Louis Cardinals tonight. Zach Davies will pitch against Carlos Martinez.
