The Detroit Tigers’ offensive struggles continued last night, as they fell to the Los Angeles Angels 2-0, Anibal Sanchez took the tough loss, giving up two runs on six hits, and striking out nine over seven innings. Detroit collected only four hits. The Tigers did load the bases in the eighth inning, but Yoenis Cespedes struck out to end the threat.

The Milwaukee Brewers lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-5 last night. The Diamondbacks belted four home runs in the game. The game was tied until the eighth inning, when Jonathan Broxton gave the game-winning homer to Nick Ahmed. Broxton took the loss. A.J. Pollock’s two-run shot off Corey Knebel in the ninth put the game away.

The Brewers continue that home series against the Diamondbacks this afternoon. Kyle Lohse will start against Jeremy Hellickson.

Milwaukee has called Tyler Wagner up from their Double-A farm team in Biloxi to fill in for the injured Wily Peralta in the starting rotation. Wagner will make his major-league debut tomorrow. The Brewers have placed reliever Brandon Kintzler on the disabled list with tendinitis in his left knee.
