MLB

The Tigers’ bats were quiet last night, in a 1-0 loss to the Royals. Detroit collected just two hits. The offensive outage negated a good start by Michael Lorenzen, who gave up a run on six hits over six innings. It was the 10th shutout of the season for the Tigers – the most of any team in the American League.

The Tigers host the Royals again this afternoon. Matthew Boyd will pitch against Brady Singer. Coverage will begin at 12:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

The Brewers came from behind to down the Diamondbacks 7-5 last evening. Starter Colin Rae struggled into the sixth, and was charged with all five Arizona runs. A four-run seventh pushed the Crew into the lead. The big blow was a two-run double by William Contreras.

The Brewers entertain the Diamondbacks again this afternoon. Zac Gallen will pitch against Julio Teheran.
