MLB
James McCann’s grand slam powered the Detroit Tigers to a 9-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels yesterday. Leonys Martin also homered. Matthew Boyd struggled with his control, but turned in five scoreless innings to get the win.

The Tigers will host the Angels again tonight. Michael Fulmer will start against Nick Tropeano. Pregame coverage will begin at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

Utility player Niko Goodrum had to leave yesterday’s game after three innings because of heat exhaustion. Team officials say a workout supplement he took before the game contributed to dehydration, and that he should be ready to play today.

Ryan Braun scored three runs, as the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 8-3 yesterday. Braun got on base every time he went to the plate. Christian Yelich and Jonathan Villar homered. Brent Suter pitched four scoreless innings, but gave up all three St. Louis runs on two home runs in the fifth.

The Brewers entertain the Cardinals again this evening. Zach Davies will pitch against Michael Wacha.
