MLB
The Detroit Tigers’ losing streak grew to nine games yesterday, with a 4-2 loss to the Oakland Athletics. Nicholas Castellanos got Detroit off to a good start with a two-run homer in the first, but the Tigers collected just four hits after that. Michael Fulmer gave up four runs over eight innings, and took the loss.

The Tigers begin a series at Toronto tonight. Francisco Liriano will pitch against Marcus Stroman. Pregame coverage will begin at 6:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

Eric Thames’ three-run homer in the seventh inning powered the Milwaukee Brewers past the Cincinnati Reds 6-4 last night. Thames’ blast brought Milwaukee back from a two-run deficit, and continued his remarkable dominance over Cincy. In the 20 games he has played against the Reds, he has hit 13 homers. Jesús Aguilar also hit one out. Junior Guerra gave up four runs over six innings and got the win.

The Brewers continue that series at Cincinnati tonight. Chase Anderson will start against Sal Romano.

Outfielder Christian Yelich left last night’s game with tightness in his lower back. He’s considered day-to-day.

Before last night’s game, the Brewers brought reliever Mike Zagurski up from Colorado Springs. Adrian Houser was sent down.
