College Basketball

Michigan State will face Kansas State as the Round of 16 opens today in the NCAA Division I men’s basketball tournament. The Spartans are seeded seventh in the East Region; the Wildcats are seeded third. Tipoff is at 6:30.

NHL

The Pistons visit the Raptors tomorrow. Coverage begins at 7:05 on 99.3 The Lift.

MLB

The Tigers’ Grapefruit League losing streak reached five games yesterday, with a 5-3 loss to the Braves. Detroit took an early lead, with single runs in each of the first three innings. Atlanta took control with four runs in the sixth, powered by a three-run Orlando Arcia home run off José Cisnero. Starter Matt Manning went four innings, allowing a run on six hits.

The Tigers split their squad for games against the Phillies this afternoon, and the Orioles tonight.

The Brewers had yesterday off, and play a split Padres squad this afternoon. Bryse Wilson will start for Milwaukee.

NFL

The Lions have brought linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin back to Detroit as a free agent. Reeves-Maybin played his first five seasons in the Motor City, then spent last year with the Texans.

The Packers have re-signed cornerback Corey Ballentine and safety Rudy Ford.
