MLB – Tigers
The Detroit Tigers came back from a three-run deficit, but fell to the Houston Astros 6-5 yesterday. Matt Boyd gave up five runs over five innings to put the Tigers in a hole. Detroit closed the gap when Miguel Cabrera hit a two-run homer in the seventh, and tied the game when Tyler Collins drove in a run in the eighth. In the bottom of the ninth, Tom Gorzelanny gave up a two-out triple to Jake Marisnick. Alex Wilson replaced Gorzelanny, and Jose Altuve smacked his first pitch into center field for the game-winning single.

The Tigers have today off, and open a series against the Cubs in Chicago tomorrow night. Anibal Sanchez will start against Jason Hammel.

Ryan Braun’s grand slam powered the Milwaukee Brewers to a 6-1 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies yesterday. Taylor Jungmann struck out a career-best nine batters, as he pitched into the seventh inning. Braun’s homer tied him with Robin Yount for the all-time club record.

The Brewers host the Marlins tonight. Matt Garza will pitch against Justin Nicolino.
