MLB – Tigers Fall Late
The Chicago White Sox scored four runs in the eighth inning, and came from behind to edge the Detroit Tigers 7-6 last night. The Sox rallied with six straight two-out hits off Joba Chamberlain. Former Tiger Avisail Garcia drove in the game-winner. Victor Martinez homered and drove in four runs for Detroit. That series wraps up in Chicago this afternoon. Kyle Lobstein will start against Jose Quintana. Hear the first pitch at 2:10 on AM 1400 and FM 99.3 WCCY.

Tigers’ pitcher Justin Verlander has been cleared to start throwing again. Verlander has been sidelined with a strained triceps muscle. An MRI taken earlier this week indicated that the inflammation in the muscle has subsided. No timetable has been put forth on his possible return to the rotation.

Peralta
Peralta

The Milwaukee Brewers scored five runs in the first inning, and cruised to a 6-3 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers last night. Scooter Gennett and Adam Lind homered for Milwaukee. Wily Peralta gave up three runs over eight innings to earn his first win of the season.

The Brewers conclude that series against the Dodgers this afternoon. Mike Fiers will pitch against Carlos Frias.
