Tigers Outlast Twins – Sunday Sports Wrap

The Tigers held off the Twins 3-2 yesterday. All of Detroit’s runs scored in the second inning, on singles by Eric Haase and Zach McInstry. Reese Olson tossed five shutout innings, but left as Minnesota scored once in the sixth. He recorded his first major league win. The Twins added another in the seventh off Chasen Shreve. Alex Lange struck out three Twins batters in the ninth to earn the save.

The Tigers host the Twins again this afternoon. Michael Lorenzen will pitch against Bailey Ober. With rain in the Detroit forecast, the start time for today’s contest has been moved up to 12:10, with coverage beginning at 11:45 on 99.3 The Lift.

The Brewers fell 4-2 to the Guardians yesterday. Milwaukee was held to just four hits. Freddy Peralta gave up one run over the first five innings, but was charged with two more in the sixth, and took the loss.

The Brewers play in Cleveland again this afternoon. Corbin Burnes will pitch against Aaron Civale.
