On the high school baseball schedule today…
• Houghton plays at L’Anse.
• Hancock visits Jeffers.

On the softball schedule…

NHL

NHL opening-round playoff action continued yesterday.

In the Eastern Conference…
• The Bruins outscored the Hurricanes 5-2. That series is tied 2-2.
• The Lightning pounded the Maple Leafs 7-3. That set is tied 2-2.

In the Western Conference…
• The Blues outskated the Wild 5-2. That series is tied 2-2.
• The Kings blanked the Oilers 4-0. That set is tied 2-2.

In the Eastern Conference tonight…
• The Panthers visit the Capitals. Washington leads that series 2-1.
• The Penguins host the Rangers. Pittsburgh is up 2-1 in that set. 

In the Western Conference tonight…
• The Predators entertain the Avalanche. Colorado leads that series 3-0.
• The Flames visit the Stars. Dallas leads that set 2-1.

NBA

The NBA conference semifinal playoffs continued yesterday…
• In the Eastern Conference, the 76ers downed the Heat 116-108. That series is tied 2-2.
• In the Western Conference, the Mavericks got past the Suns 111-101. That set is tied 2-2.

Today…
• In the Eastern Conference, the Bucks host the Celtics. Milwaukee leads that series 2-1.
• In the Western Conference, the Grizzlies visit the Warriors. Golden State leads that set 2-1.

MLB

The Detroit Tigers collected just one hit in a 5-0 loss to the  Houston Astros yesterday. In a “bullpen” day, Willy Peralta tossed two scoreless innings. Drew Hutchison threw the next two, gave up four runs, and took the loss.

After being swept in Houston, the Tigers have lost 12 of their last 14 games. They’ll entertain the Oakland Athletics tonight. Michael Pineda will pitch against Paul Blackburn. Coverage will begin at 6:50 on 99.3 The Lift. 

Austin Meadows missed his third straight game yesterday, with a non-COVID illness.

The Milwaukee Brewers fell 9-2 to the Atlanta Braves yesterday. Aaron Ashby gave up six runs over four innings, and took the loss.

The Brewers visit the Cincinnati Reds this evening. Brandon Woodruff will start against Luis Castillo.
