MLB

Akil Baddoo’s ground-rule double drive home Jonathan Schoop with the winning run in the 10th inning, as the Tigers came from behind to edge the Cardinals 6-5 yesterday. Detroit fell behind early, when Spencer Turnbull surrendered a three-run homer to Dylan Carlson in the bottom of the first inning. The Tigers scored thrice in the top of the fifth, but St. Louis retook the lead with two runs in the bottom of the inning, chasing Turnbull. Single runs in the sixth and seventh re-tied the game for the Tigers. José Cisnero earned the win in relief.

The Tigers have won five straight, and conclude that series at St. Louis today. Alex Faedo will be brought up from Toledo to start against Steven Matz. Coverage will begin at 1:50 on 99.3 The Lift.

The Brewers’ woes continued with a 4-1 loss to the Giants yesterday. Colin Rae allowed three runs over six innings.

The Brewers have lost six straight, and visit the Giants again today. Adrian Houser will start against Ross Stripling.
