The Detroit Tigers scored three runs in the ninth inning, and edged the Kansas City Royals 5-4 last night. K-C took an early lead with a pair of runs off Francisco Liriano in the first inning. They chased Liriano from the game with another run in the fifth. Detroit’s comeback began in the seventh, with RBI singles from James McCann and Jose Iglesias. The Royals added their final run in the bottom of the seventh. In the top of the ninth, Jim Adduci’s two-run double tied the game, and McCann doubled home the game-winner.
