U.S. Cross Country Ski Championships Begin Today – Thursday Sports Wrap

High School

In girls high school basketball tonight, Calumet travels to Negaunee.

 – Houghton plays at Calumet.

Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference

The Michigan Tech basketball teams return to action tonight, at home against Wayne State. The women’s game starts at 5:30, and the men’s contest at 7:30.

Both Northern Michigan University teams entertain Ashland tonight.

Finlandia University

The Finlandia University men’s basketball team visits Northland University this evening.

NHL

The Detroit Red Wings visit the Dallas Stars tomorrow. Coverage will begin at 8:10 on 99.2 The Lift.

NBA

The Detroit Pistons visit the Los Angeles Clippers tonight. Pregame coverage will begin at 10:05 on 99.3 The Lift.

Nordic Skiing

The U.S. Cross Country Ski Championships begin on the Tech Trails with the freestyle sprint competition today. This is the fifth time that Michigan Tech has hosted the competition, which will attract skiers from across the United States, including potential members of the 2020 U.S. Olympic team. Competition will continue tomorrow, Sunday and Tuesday. Spectators are welcome. Park in Lot 23 of the Student Development Complex, across Sharon Avenue from the trailhead.
