In high school cross country, Calumet, Dollar Bay, Houghton, Baraga, and Chassell will be among the teams competing at the Westwood Invitational.

The Major League Baseball playoffs open tonight when the Baltimore Orioles visit the Toronto Blue Jays for the American League wild card game. The winner will advance to face the Texas Rangers.
