The Tigers have placed reliever Andrew Vasquez on the injured list, with tightness in his left calf. Garrett Hill has been called up from Toledo to fill in. Detroit also claimed pitcher Bennett Sousa off waivers from the Brewers, and assigned him to the Mud Hens.

The Brewers fell 1-0 to the Cubs last night. The only run of the game came in the first inning off Corbin Burnes, who completed seven frames, and took the tough loss.

The loss trims Milwaukee’s lead over Chicago in the National League Central Division to four games.

Grand Valley State has been picked to win both the men’s and women’s Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference cross country titles. Lake Superior State was picked to place last in both polls.
