– Lake Linden-Hubbell plays at Jeffers.
– Dollar Bay-Tamarack City entertains Republic-Michigamme.

NHL

The Detroit Red Wings fell behind early, and lost 4-2 to the Calgary Flames last night. Dylan Larkin scored both Detroit goals. Jonathan Bernier made 27 saves.

The Wings entertain the New Jersey Devils tomorrow. Coverage begins at 7:10 on 99.3 The Lift.

The Wings have traded defenseman Mike Green to the Edmonton Oilers. In exchange, they get a draft pick – either a fourth-rounder this year, or a third-rounder next year, depending on the Oilers’ and Green’s performance over the rest of this season. Detroit will cover half of Green’s remaining salary. The Wings also take on the expiring contract of veteran forward forward Kyle Brodziak, who was forced to retire at the beginning of the season because of a degenerative back issue.

The NHL trade deadline is today.

NBA

The Detroit Pistons’ late comeback fell short in a 107-104 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers last evening. Christian Wood scored 26 for Detroit.

The Pistons visit the Denver Nuggets tomorrow night.

MLB

Half of the Detroit Tigers defeated the Atlanta Braves 5-1 yesterday. Victor Reyes had two hits, and Ivan Nova tossed two scoreless innings in his first start of the spring. The other half of the Tigers downed the Pittsburgh Pirates 8-4. Prospect Derek Hill and non-roster invitee Jorge Bonifacio each had two hits.

The Tigers face the Houston Astros this afternoon.

The Milwaukee Brewers lost to the San Diego Padres 7-2 yesterday. Newcomer Brett Anderson started, and gave up two runs over one inning of work.

The Brewers will split their squad for games against the Los Angeles Angels and the Oakland Athletics today.

Our Finlandia University coverage continues Saturday, as the Lions women’s basketball team faces Pine Manor in the semifinals of the ACAA tournament in Milwaukee. The pregame show will begin around 6:40 on 99.3 The Lift and 993TheLift.com.
