The Finlandia University men’s basketball team will entertain Northland College tonight at 6:00 at the Paavo Nurmi Center. Our pregame show will begin at 5:40 on 99.3 The Lift and 993TheLift.com.

Three Finlandia University football players have been honored by the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association. Punter Cole Fornwald, offensive lineman Wilson Spreier, and former Baraga Viking linebacker Dillion Hueckstaedt were named to the All-MIAA second team.

10 Michigan Tech football players have been saluted by the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Wide receiver Jacob Wenzlick and punter Michael James were named to the All-GLIAC First Team. Defensive lineman Garrett Ross and linebacker Marvin Wright earned spots on the All-GLIAC Second Team. Graham Hubbell, Seth Malcolm, Jordan Ferguson, Ben Hartley, Xavier Ciardo, and Travis Tidwell received Honorable Mention votes/

NMU
The Northern Michigan University men’s basketball team overcame a 10-point halftime deficit, and defeated Minnesota-Duluth 64-52 last night. The Wildcats women’s team dropped a 51-45 decision to the Bulldogs.

NHL
The Detroit Red Wings ripped the Arizona Coyotes 6-1 last night. Anthony Mantha, Dennis Cholowski, Michael Rasmussen, Luke Glendening, Andreas Athanasiou and Mike Green all scored for Detroit. Jimmy Howard made 24 saves. After struggling through first several weeks of the season, Detroit has now won four straight games, and reached the .500 mark. The Wings will visit the Ottawa Senators tomorrow night. Because of NFL football on 99.3 The Lift, pregame coverage of the Wings’ game will begin at 7:10 on KBear 102.3.

The Detroit Pistons visit the Toronto Raptors tonight. Pregame coverage begins at 7:10 on 99.3 The Lift.

MLB
Milwaukee Brewers manager Craig Counsell finished second in the voting for National League Manager of the Year by the Baseball Writers Association of America. Atlanta’s Brian Snitker won the honor.
